Set Details
This section tells us the details about the Set. The (0/4) or any number indicates how many set pieces are equipped and how many pieces are needed to gain Set bonus.
In this case, the 0 indicates how many Speed Set gear we have equipped.
The 4 indicates that we need to equip 4 pieces of Speed Set Gear to gain the Speed set Bonus.

Enhancing Equipment
There are two ways to enhance your gears:
1. Feed other equipment of the same type to what you want to enhance
2. Use Equipment Charms to enhance the gear
Both are shown in the image below.
Equipment Charms method in general are cheaper and more cost effective, but charms are harder to obtain.
Each gear can go up to +15 Enhancement

Main Stat
The Main Stat is always increased whenever we increase the enhancement.
One key thing to remember is this equation:
Final Main Stat at +15 = Starting Main stat * 5
In example below, since the starting Crit Hit Chance is 11%, we know that the max Crit hit chance will be 55% through the simple equation. We prove the equation correct by actually enhancing the equipment to +15.

The Main Stat's Starting Value varies depending on the item level.
Higher item level will have higher Main Stat, we will go over in detail in the item level section.
Substat
Every multiple of 3 will enhance the sub stat or gain a new sub stat in some rarity.
Images below shows a natural progression of a Rare (Blue) equipment.

Substat Table
This table shows what happens to Substats at every multiple of 3 enhancement in relation to Rarity.

Because of how the system works, we need to make sure the initial starting substats are what we want. This will give us the highest probability of upgrading the stats that we want. Rare and Heroic gets 2 to 3 upgrades on the initial starting stats before gaining a new substat.
When we gain a new substat, it lowers our probability to upgrade the desired substat.
Even if we gain a stat that is highly valued, we only get to upgrade it once as compare to the initial starting substat. Hence why a lot of player's best gears are actually Heroic Rarity that has 2 or 3 starting stats that are desired.
Item Level
Rarity determines how many substat, Item level determines the maximum value of the stat. Below are the table that showcase how item level affects the main stat and the substat.
We only show item level 58 or above stats because we think all the other item levels are not worth enhancing too much. It is also fairly easy to access item level 58 or above gear now that Epic Seven provides many free and unique gears. For more information see our Unique Gear Guide.
There are a few item level 55-57 epic sets that are worth upgrading a bit to help with progression.
Item Level and Starting Main Stat

Item Level and Substat value

Notice that Substat is a range of value unlike Main Stat where it is always constant. These ranges apply to both the Starting Substat and also the amount you could upgrade the substat at every 3 enhancement levels.
Because of this range, you can imagine that even if you have the correct substat on a piece of gear, the starting value and the upgraded value will all come in play.
Lets provide some examples to hopefully better explain this important aspect of the game:
Item lvl 85 Epic Weapon 1: Starting Substat Attack % is 4%
+3 added 4% on Attack
+6 added 4% on Attack
+9 added 4% on Attack
+12 added 4% on Attack
+15 added 4% on Attack
Final Sub Stat: 24% Attack
Sez's Tip: Remember that Epic Rarity allows maximum of 5 upgrades on Substats
Item lvl 85 Epic Weapon 2: Starting Substat Attack% is 8%
+3 added 8 % on Attack
+6 added 8 % on Attack
+9 added 8 % on Attack
+12 added 8 % on Attack
+15 added 8 % on Attack
Final Sub Stat: 48% Attack
The difference between high rolls and low rolls is humongous!
This is obviously a very extreme scenario but this showcases the importance of the range of value in these substats.
If you just started the game, you will not need to worry about the substat value as much because just getting the right stat alone, should provide an upgrade in gear quality.
Just keep in mind that in the latter part of the game, you will need to worry about not only the correct substat, but also the starting and upgrade value of the substat.
Sets
Sets give bonus stats when you meet the equipment requirement (either equipping 4 piece or 2 piece) you can equip multiple sets of 2 piece set too, for example many players actually do 3 sets of Critical Set to gain 36% extra Crit Hit Chance.
We do want to mention that don't be too bucked down by Sets. In the beginning forcing a set might be very beneficial due to gear quality being low. However there will be cases where equipping 2 or more equipment with amazing stats can outweigh the value of having Set Bonus.
Golem Hunt

Azimanak Hunt

Wyvern Hunt

Banshee Hunt

The sets that drop from Golem and Wyvern are more useful in general for early to mid game players. Wyvern's Speed Set in particular is used through all stages of the game.
Azimanak and Banshee drops lots of specialty sets that are used for PVP.
Usually people aim to do Wyvern first and then Azimank or Golem and lastly Banshee, which seems to be a natural progression as players start putting more and more focus on PVP as game progresses.
This concludes our Basic Equipment Guide. Feel free to check out our other beginner's guide and Wyvern 11 guide to start getting item level 85 gears!
