Abyss Level 92: Tywin

Updated: Apr 15

Pretty difficult Stage honestly

Finally New Updates and Abyss! Decided to start a quick series on how I managed to defeat the new Abyss level.

Keys to Beating this Floor

1. Bring buff strippers (very important)

2. Enough Heal for AOE damages

3. Bring enough Cleanse for debuffs (especially removing defense break)

4. Bring Poison to break Tywin's barrier or you can use Arky to break the barrier.

Sez's Tip: This stage is pretty difficult, expect a few wipes.
Taranor Guards get summoned when you don't remove Tywin's Buffs... (or when his HP is lower than 40%)

Key Boss Skills

Verdict from these skills

  • We need to use poison to break the Barrier

  • We need to remove Tywin's buff as much as possible

  • We need to apply debuffs after Tywin uses "Commanding Shout"

  • AOE damage dealer and AOE debuffer like Basar or Dizzy are quite useful here because of the Taranor Guards that will be summoned by Tywin's "All-Out Attack".

How Sez Gaming Beat this Floor

Team Composition: Tamarinne, Angelic Montmorancy, Dizzy, Seaside Ballona

Key Points of our strategies:

1. Dizzy has Lela Violin and brought Tamarinne for buff removal

2. Brought enough healers to cleanse and heal, cleansing Defense break debuff is key

3. Make sure Dizzy applies debuff after Tywin's "Commanding Shout"

4. Saved up 2 Arky attacks for the Barrier Phases.

5. Don't break the barrier until your team is ready to take AOE damage from Romann

6. Seaside Balalona clears out Taranor Guards with AOE damage.

Some Explanation:

1. Dizzy has Lela Violin and brought Tamarinne for buff removal

If you have a Basar or Iseria or other cleansers, I think you should bring them instead of Tamarinne because she is fire unit and sometimes misses her attack. I think removing Tywin's Buffs is the most important point for this fight. Tywin's Buffs are very offensive and it also allows him to summon Taranor Guards when he uses "All-Out Attack". Another key point is that you cannot buff your own team when Tywin has buffs. So I made sure he doesn't have any buffs right before he is about to cast "All-Out Attack". I also use Immunity buff on the team when possible to increase chances of survival.

2. Brought enough healers to cleanse and heal, cleansing Defense break debuff is key

Cleansing the Defense Break, is important because Defense break + Romann's AOE attack is really dangerous. So Defense break is almost never on our characters.

3. Make sure Dizzy applies debuff after Tywin's "Commanding Shout"

For me it was important to apply lengthy debuffs on Tywin after Commanding shout so he doesn't cleanse the debuffs and do massive damage to my team. Tywin almost always follow up "Commanding Shout" with an "All-Out Attack" soon after.

4. Saved up 2 Arky attacks for the Barrier Phases

This was a god send for me. I never built up any poison or bleed damage. I was on the verge of building Kiris for this stage, then my brilliant mind started working and decided to use Arky and give it a try. It worked like wonder. It takes two Arky for me to break his Barrier. So I almost never soul burn and just save all the souls for Barrier phase.

5. Don't break the barrier until your team is ready to take AOE damage from Romann

I wiped a few times not remembering this. When you break the Barrier, Romann will start doing his AOE damage. So make sure your team is healthy before breaking the barrier. Sometimes it might be good to let Tywin heal once or twice instead of just wiping your team.

6. Seaside Balalona clears out Taranor Guards with AOE damage

This is the most optional point. I just brought a great DPS to help clearing faster. I think killing him fast in the last 40% where he constantly taranor guard is important. An efficient way to clear Taranor Guard is also important.

If I had like Alencia or Basar or something like those characters built up, I would prefer bringing them for extra cleanse.
