Abyss Level 93: Dominiel

Updated: Apr 15

Finally New Updates and Abyss! Decided to start a quick series on how I managed to defeat the new Abyss level.

Keys to Beating this Floor

1. Do not use any Debuffs

2. Enough Heal for AOE damages

3. Bring enough Cleanse for debuffs

4. Choosing when to kill Zerato

5. Immunity is good to have

6. Bring enough Damage to kill Dominiel fast enough because she has applies a stackable Defense Break (not a debuff)

Key Boss Skills

Zerato's Skill is specially mentioned since it is the only true big threat

Verdict from these skills

  • We shouldn't bring Debuffs to minimize the damage from Dominiel and also prevent it from being transferred through Hail

  • 'Ice Spear' revives Zerato, so choosing when or whether to kill Zerato is key

  • Zerato's Skill stuns the whole team and will probably result in a Wipe, make sure he never casts it or have immunity ready for it.

If you do not have immunity buff on, this is what happens after Zerato's Ultimate skills

How Sez Gaming Beat this Floor

Team Composition: Tamarinne, Angelic Montmorancy, Commander Lorina, Vivian

Key Points of our strategies:

1. Lorina damages the right target

2. Limit the attack on Dominiel so healers are hitting Zerato almost all the time

3. Only kill Zerato when he has ult, if we cannot kill him intime, we use Immunity right before he casts his ult

4. Didn't Bring any Debuff Heroes

Some Explanation:

1. Lorina damages the right target

Since in our composition, Lorina is the only true Damage dealer, we need to make sure she is focusing on the right target. Fortunately our Lorina with Tamarinne has enough damage to kill Zerato whenever we want to. We suggest bringing an extra damage dealer to make it even easier. Vivian was supposed to be that extra damage dealer with immunity buff, but we didn't bother to put good gears on her.

2. Limit the attack on Dominiel so healers are hitting Zerato almost all the time

Similar to playing against a counter set, Do not touch Dominiel unless necessary. We try to avoid having Montmorancy and Tamarinne attack Dominiel.

3. Only kill Zerato when he has ult, if we cannot kill him intime, we use Immunity right before he casts his ult

So Zerato doesn't really deal that much damage, but the stun is very annoing. We recommend killing Zerato whenever he has his ult. To take it even further, there is a small window for the best time to kill Zerato is shown in the below picture:

You can see that Dominiel is about to cast 'Ice Spear' which revives Zerato if he is dead. You can also see that Zerato does not have 'Iceberg' ready yet. So we wait till after Dominiel casts her 'Ice Spear' and then kill Zerato before he casts his "Iceberg". You will get a few turns without needing to worry about Zerato.

You can also cast Immunity buff before he casts 'Iceberg' instead of killing Zerato if you do not care about the extra damage Zerato does. Make sure you only use Immunity buff on the turn that Zerato is about to cast 'Iceberg' because he strips your buffs with his normal attacks.

4. Didn't Bring any Debuff Heroes

Because Dominiel simply has too much synergy with transferring debuffs and the counter attacks, we don't recommend bringing any debuffs and you can tell from our team, we have no debuffs at all.

Hope this helps. Until next time!
