Tips for Picking the Correct Opponents

Examples and Recap

Tips for Picking the Correct Opponents

1. Know the Power level of our Guildmates

2. What are my offense teams good at and what are the win conditions?

3. How many defense losses does the opponent have in match history?

4. How many offense losses does the opponent have in Match history?

5. What Player Rank is the Person?

Now lets go over in detail:

1. Know the Power level of my Guild Mates

You can usually get an idea of how strong your guild mates are by checking their Arena Rank or by talking to them.

This is really useful because when you look at your opponent's match history, if your stronger guild mate lost to them, you will know this is a challenging opponent and should try to avoid if possible.

Similarly if you see the enemy failed attack on your weaker or equivalent Guildmate, this means you will have a decent chance of winning.

2. What are my offense teams good at and what are the win conditions

Guild War teams is tricky and I do not want to go over it in this Post. This point definitely requires some experience and team building knowledge, but a simple example would be, I know my cleave team cannot be used against a tanky team or a counter attack team because I cannot kill them in one round usually. So I would look for other opponents that my cleave team can kill like another Cleave defense team, etc.

The more game knowledge you know, the more matchups you will learn. Be patient there will be times you will misjudge but you will get there :)

Sez's Tip: Be like Vegeta, you will make mistakes, but keep trying!

3. How many defense losses does the opponent have in Match history?

I think this is useful for most people unless you are competing in the top guilds, which I don't think you need to be reading this guide if that's the case... The amount of defense loss will often tell you how strong the team is because remember the opposing guild have been playing against other guilds that are at the same level as your guild. So if they been constantly losing to other players similar to you, most likely their team is pretty defense team is pretty weak.

4. How many offense losses does the opponent have in Match history?

Similar to point 2, I also find people that are weak on offense easy targets because when people lose offense it is either because they do not know the match ups and been picking the wrong targets, or they are simply not geared enough. Most people would focus on generating a great offense team before defense.

If their offense is not great how can their defense be great?

On a side note, if the person does not have many offense, that means they haven't been participating in the guild wars, which means they are probably not very active player. This also means they are not actively updating defense which is another good indicator that this is most likely an easy target.

5. What Player Rank is the Opponent?

Rank tells me how long people have been playing. If a person is lower rank than me, there is a higher chance of their characters not being as geared as me because I played more!

Example and Recap

I always check all the available towers or fortress by applying points 1 to 5. I locate all the possible targets and then start plotting what I am going to use against each opponent.

Now let's take a look at some examples....

Here is a example of a bad opponent to attack: (Team A)

Here is a much better target: (Team B)

Explanation

At first glance, Team B does have more headline worthy HEROES fully leveled and awakened. That will only fool normal players, but WE AIN'T NORMAL ARE WE??

Lets apply what we just learned....

1. Know the Powerlevel of my Guildmates

Does not apply here you do not know my guild (hehe secret :))

2. What are my offense teams good at and what are the win conditions?

I do not want to explain my team. Maybe some time in the future

3. How many defense losses does the opponent have in match history?

Team B clearly had more defense losses, however we can potentially justify by saying only the strongest members of other guilds have attacked this team. Which brings us to the next point.

4. How many offense losses does the opponent have in Match history?

Ok we gave him/her the benefit of the doubt, maybe they faced tough offense. However looking at the offense history, it is all losses. This means the person most likely did not have a very geared team for their guild wars. This screams easy target!

5. What Player Rank are the enemies

They are same level at 65

After reviewing and going through all the steps, hope you can see that Team B is the better choice.
