How to Counter: Arbiter Vildred

Our How to Counter Series is a theory crafting series that hope to give readers some idea on how to counter certain hero or teams. It is very important to know this for all Epic Seven PVP contents.

Example

Below is a sample of a typical Arbiter Vildred that most players will deal with. This Arbiter Vildred is used in Champion Rank.

Lower the speed depending on what Arena Rank players are at. For example, Gold Rank players should be at 140 to 160 speed with this kind of Damage Stat. In General if someone's Arbiter Vildred is incredibly fast or tanky at Gold Rank, the Arbiter Vildred most likely do not deal very high damage.

Weakness

Unlike other heroes, Arbiter Vildred's Kit itself does not have glaring weaknesses. He has enough damage to be annoying if we ignore him. If we focus to kill him he will revive and immediately smack us again. Because of this, the developers released a few mechanism that can specifically counter him. We will go over it in next section.

How to Counter?

  1. Bring Heroes with "Extinction" or "Cannot Revive" mechanism to kill him

  2. Use Heroes that take "Extra Turn" to kill him twice

  3. Bring tanky team to tank the damage and out last him

  4. Use Heroes that have "Revive" mechanics too

1. Bring Heroes with "Extinction" or "Cannot Revive" mechanism to kill him

Removing Arbiter Vildred's Revive Mechanism makes killing him just like any other Damage Dealer. To remove that mechanism, we will need to bring heroes with "Extinction" or "Cannot Revive"

Some example of heroes with Extinction skills:

Sigret's S3

Lilabet's S3

Top Model Luluca's S3

Glenn's S2

The tricky part is that if we miss the attack due to Moonlight Dreamblade or if Arbiter Vildred is a tanky version. A few ways to make it even more fool proof.

  • Apply Defense Break on Arbiter Vildred or weaken Arbiter Vildred before Extinction Hero Attacks

  • Use Artifacts that increases Hit Chance like Symbol of Unity or Oath Key

Sinful Angelica is also an option as she simply doesn't allow people to revive when she has Immortal Buff.

2. Use Heroes that take "Extra Turn" to kill him twice

Another Mechanism to kill Arbiter Vildred is to let him Revive and kill him twice!

This method is not as efficient when against Tanky Arbiter Vildred, but it will work against squishy ones.

Some heroes that can take multiple Turns and kill squishy Arbiter Vildred:

Baiken

Judge Kise

Blood Blade Karin

3. Bring tanky team to tank the damage and out last him

This may not be feasible for Beginners, but it is possible to just bring 3 or 4 tanky bruisers or knights to outlast Arbiter Vildred. Just tank his damage and here are some tips to make life a little easier:

  • Defense Buffs helps a lot

  • Knights' Artifacts like Aurius, Adament Shield and many other defensive Artifacts help.

There are also heroes with Immortal abilities or damage mitigation skills

Some great examples are:

Tempest Surin

Kayron

Briar Witch Iseria

Blood Moon Haste and Fallen Cecilia deserves a mention here too because they are designed to help Players Tank Arbiter Vildred's damage. However the only problem is they are 5 Star Moonlight hero which is not very accessible...

4. Use Heroes that have "Revive" mechanics too

It doesn't matter if Arbiter Vildred can Revive if we can revive too! The problem with this method is we have to trigger enemy's revive first.

So one example is we bring our own Arbiter Vildred, it is now down to who kills their Arbiter Vildred first. So this could be a speed race depending on who you bring.

Some other great heroes that has Revive buff:

Maid Chloe

Ruele of Light

Roana

Hope this helped and now go slay some Arbiter Vildred!
